Love is the answer to everything. Whatever you do or whoever you are, the answer to all of our problems is love. Even though it brings pain, love will bring more happiness. With love, everything changes; our perspective, our way of living and our everyday life.

Buck Owens’ Record-Breaking Song

“Love’s Gonna Live Here” is a song written and performed by Buck Owens in 1963. Owens’ single “Love’s Gonna Live Here” is the first song to stay at number one on the Billboard Charts for 16 consecutive weeks. In addition, it remained on top of the charts for 30 weeks, in 1963. It made history as it was the first song to stay No.1 one for a very long time. Owens’ record was broken by Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise,” which peaked at No.1 for 24 weeks.

Cover Versions

His song was covered by various artists, including Waylon Jennings in 1964, Wanda Jackson in 1969, Emmylou Harris in 1982 and Tanya Tucker in 2009.

A Bit About The Artist

Buck Owens was born on August 12, 1929, in Sherman, Texas. He taught himself to play the guitar, because of his love of local country music. His first song to be recognized was “Second Fiddle.” It peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs in 1959. Furthermore,  the first band that Owens’ assembled was called The Buckaroos, in 1963. The first single of the band to top the charts was “Act Naturally.” He was credited with the creation of the Bakersfield sound together with Merle Haggard and other artists, as he combines the classic country music and rock ‘n’ roll.

He took a break for a while when he returned to the stage Owens scored his No.1 hit song, “Streets of Bakersfield” since 1972. Furthermore, in 1996, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Owens died on March 2006, hours after his performance at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace.
