Carly Pearce has joined forces with country star Chris Stapleton for a powerful new duet called “We Don’t Fight Anymore.” In it, she displayed her musical sensibilities as she stepped into the next chapter of her musical journey and cemented her place as a supreme storyteller.

The song was released in June 2023 as the lead single off Pearce’s highly anticipated fourth studio album – the first new music since her critically-acclaimed album 29: Written In Stone in 2021.

The Reality And Complications Of A Relationship

Written by Carly Pearce, together with frequent collaborators Shane McAnally and Pete Good, “We Don’t Fight Anymore” captures the difficulties of a worn-out couple. A couple trying to stay together when the truth is that their relationship is, without a doubt falling into pieces due to a devastating feeling of distance between them.

Sadly, neither one of them wants to bend for the other – acknowledging that the love they used to have pared down so much that they no longer have the energy to fight for each other.

“We could tear up the house, we could burn the whole thing down. But, boy, what for? ‘Cause wе don’t even fight anymore,” the two country powerhouses croon.

Indeed, the vivid lyrics truly showcase Pearce’s songwriting capabilities. After all, we’ve known Pearce as someone who doesn’t shy away from any uncomfortable moments. Meanwhile, Pearce and Chris Stapleton‘s raw vocal performance artfully weaves across a vulnerable music bed that it’s enough to make your bones ache as they portray a passionless couple.

Pearce admitted that Stapleton joining her on this song was a realization of a dream. “He unlocked an element to the story that I didn’t even know it needed,” Pearce said.

Anyway, make sure you listen to Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton team up for the soul-stirring ballad “We Don’t Fight Anymore” by playing the video below.
