Country singer Carly Pearce candidly took to social media to share a very important health update.
In the video uploaded on her Instagram, captioned, “health update. love y’all 💛,” Pearce began with a smile that she has always been transparent and honest about every part of her life, and she felt that this news deserved the same honesty. She went on to reveal that she has been recently diagnosed with a heart issue called pericarditis.
What heart condition does Carly Pearce have? Mayo Clinic described it as “swelling and irritation of the thin saclike tissue surrounding the heart.” It’s often mild and may go away without treatment. But more serious cases would need medicines, and very rarely, surgery.
Despite this, she still wanted to be on the road because it was so important to her, so she has been working with doctors and talking to her cardiologist. Pearce is currently supporting Tim McGraw on his Standing Room Only tour, and next year, she’s set to headline her very own tour.
They ultimately decided that it was in her best interest that upcoming dates on her current to be taken a notch down to keep her heart rate under control. With that, she asked fans of a bit of grace and reassured fans that while performances may be a little different than before, whatever show her fans would come in, it will still be amazing.

Pearce also went on to encourage fans to take care of their bodies and get checked out. She noted that she’s a young, healthy person who watches what she eats and exercises. Nevertheless, this still happened to her. So, she wanted to use her platform to bring awareness to the fact that if your body tries to tell you something, it’s going to tell you, and you have to listen to it.
She was met with support by fans from the comments to the shows. In her interview with ET’s Nischelle Turner and Rachel Smith on the balcony of the Historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, following her announcement, she shared, “Fans have been really nice. I had my first three shows this past weekend with Tim McGraw, and they were very kind and showed me a lot of grace. So it looks a little different right now, but we’re making it [happen].”
Aside from tours, Carly Pearce is also gearing up for her highly-anticipated album hummingbird. This is her first since 2021’s 29: Written in Stone.
