1. “Even Though I’m Leaving” by Luke Combs

Listening to Combs’ “Even Though I’m Leaving” is one emotional experience. Written by Combs with Wyatt Durrette and Ray Fulcher, the poignant song could be a sweet reminder to a loved one that even though we could not always be beside them, we could still always be with them in spirit.

2. “See You Again” by Carrie Underwood

Moving forward after going through the death of a loved one is a difficult task, but Underwood’s faith and belief that there is a heaven where you would see them again is a comforting thing. “This is not where it ends,” the singer proclaims.

3. “Goodbye Time” by Blake Shelton

Shelton released his own rendition of Conway Twitty’s 1988 hit “Goodbye Time,” which is about a lovesick man who is trying to prevent his former lover from leaving. Eventually, he ultimately concluded that “if the feeling’s gone … then it’s goodbye time.”

4. “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton

“I Will Always Love You” is definitely one of the best country songs about saying goodbye to friends! Parton famously used this song to bid her mentor and on-screen duet partner, Porter Wagoner, to make her own career. Though Wagoner didn’t take that parting too well, the two remained friends until the end of Wagoner’s life.

5. “Friends In Low Places” by Garth Brooks

Although feeling a bit lonely knowing that his relationship is over, you will never hear the man in “Friends In Low Places” complain. In fact, he’s even ready to say goodbye. After all, he’s got all the friends he needs.

6. “Consider Me Gone” by Reba McEntire

Knowing that her lover is no longer happy with her, the woman in the song “Consider Me Gone” decides to continue life without her man – telling him to consider her gone. What a fierce way to say goodbye.

7. “You’ll Think of Me” by Keith Urban

Urban definitely captured what it’s like when two people break up in “You’ll Think of Me.” Though you’ll both have to go separate ways after saying goodbye, you know they’ll be thinking of you from time to time, too.

8. “A Better Man” by Clint Black

Black wrote “A Better Man” with country songwriter Hayden Nicholas, which is a reflection of his relationship of seven years that had recently ended. Guess nobody knows the pain of saying goodbye better than Black.

9. “A House With No Curtains” by Alan Jackson

Perhaps not a lot of people would remember this classic track by Jackson, but it’s actually one of the best out of his catalog. It tells the story of a couple living together though they are no longer happy with their relationship. No matter how they deny it, everyone knows that it isn’t working out between them. There needs to be a goodbye in this relationship.

10. “I’m Movin’ On” Rascal Flatts

Sometimes, all it takes is saying goodbye to all the things that are holding us back in order to find peace within ourselves – this is what this song is all about.

11. “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am” by Patty Loveless

One of the sad country songs about saying goodbye is Loveless’ 1995 country hit, which sings about a marriage that’s about to end. Both spouses have realized they’ve become complete strangers through time that they’ve decided to go separate ways.

12. “Here’s a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)” by Travis Tritt

Sometimes, when a man says goodbye, there’s no longer turning back. Take, for instance, Tritt’s 1991 country hit, where his former lover expressed her regret of leaving him. But the man was more than ready to move on, so he told her goodbye.

13. “Kerosene” by Miranda Lambert

After being cheated by her boyfriend, the woman in the song declares she’s giving up on love. But she’s not letting her man off easily; she got her revenge by burning his house down. Talk about a feisty way to say goodbye.

14. “Here Comes Goodbye” by Rascal Flatts

Gary LeVox’s vocal shines through on this dramatic goodbye song about a man who realizes his lover is about to tell him it’s over, and they will have to move on.

15. “The Beaches of Cheyenne” by Garth Brooks
