Country Strong: What Will You Do When You Fail?

Failure is always part of our lives. Whether you like it or not, you must all go through failure, not unless you live a very careful life then you won’t experience it. However, failure is not the end. It is not what will define you, failure is the beginning of everything. Failure teaches you what not to do and what to do. Do not let failure get to you. It’s your chance to begin again, to change what is supposed to and to know what to do.

Country Strong

Remember Gwyneth Paltrow’s movie, Country Strong? If you haven’t watch it yet I recommend that you must include it in your movie list. I won’t be spilling anything about the movie and I won’t be talking about it. I’m here to talk about Paltrow’s song, “Country Strong.

Country Strong” written by Jennifer Hanson, Tony Martin, and Mark Nesler. It was performed by Gwyneth Paltrow as part of the movie's soundtrack. Vince Gill provided background vocals for the song. “Country Strong” peaked at No. 30 on the Billboard Hot Country song. Paltrow did a great job with the song, showcasing her powerful voice. She did an excellent job for a person recording a song for the first time. Despite that the movie had mixed reviews, the soundtrack of the movie is a very emotional one.

The Song’s Content

Country Strong,” a song about rising above all things. The narrator talks about how she will never give up no matter how life will be, or how difficult it is.

“You may fool me

And I'll fall

But I won’t stay down long

Cause I’m country strong”

People don’t like failures because somehow it hurts our ego, but it is our chance to stand up and start something new. No matter what we do we will always go through life falling down, but it is never the end. It is always the beginning of something. Furthermore, if you never experience failing you will never know what your full potential is. Remember you have to hit rock bottom before you reach the success you dream of. The only way up is to go through everything in life, because it will mold you into something better than you were in the beginning.

About The Title Of The Song

The song’s title was gotten from Steve McNair, a former Tennessee Titans quarterback, who was given the name “Country Strong.” He was given that name because even though he got hurt and injured many times he still gets up and plays. Steve was from Mississippi, thus his teammates named him “Country Strong.”

Listen to Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Country Strong,” to have the courage to stand up if you are experiencing failures in life. Remember you are not alone. Everyone goes through failure, but the most important part is moving forward because something good is waiting for you at the end.
