In 2013, Dion Pride and Lorrie Morgan released their rendition of Charlie Pride’s classic breakout song “Kiss an Angel Good Morning.”

The song is simply a joyful love story of a man who is deeply in love with a woman he calls his angel. However, according to reports, the song was inspired by fatherly love rather than marital bliss.

In a report released by KXRB, “Kiss an Angel Good Morning” was written by American country music songwriter Ben Peters, who got the inspiration for the song through his wife Jackie, with whom he had a newborn baby, Angela.

Since he had a child, Ben has continuously been fond of her, and because of this, he decided to write a song describing how amazing the feeling is whenever he kisses his daughter goodbye every morning before leaving for work.

Right after he finished writing the song, he then handed it over to country superstar Charley Pride who made the song a chart-topping hit. Over the coming years, numerous country singers have released their version of the song.

But among the most notable ones is Charlie Pride’s son, Dion Pride, and country singer Lorrie Morgan’s version of the song. Their cover was set in a small tavern in Dion Pride’s home state of Texas.

With the tavern full of joyful customers, as the two perform, the audience just can’t stop bursting with applause. As their duet started, both Dion and Lorrie exchanged lines throughout the performance so that both of them would have a chance to be in the spotlight.
