The friendship between Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson is something that is tested by time, experience, hard work, and excellence in their field. But all these were only possible through the nick of time when fate leads them to work in the same company and the same basement at the time when they were brought to Nashville as songwriters. Now that time has come and gone, Dolly Parton remembers the bond she and Willie Nelson shared; how she adores his work and even sang one of his hits to really get in the mood.

Parton’s Golden Moments

Parton explains that when they were both in the same publishing company, she saw Nelson as some person who writes wonderful hits, and for her, as a co-songwriter at that time, Nelson is a stylist in the world of music.

However, the friendship they shared is a diamond in the sandbox to Dolly’s ultimate scene collection that features 35 hours of her screen-time, and even beyond that as a compilation. Of course, there’s no point in the compilation without a person giving the background, and who better would do that than the Dolly herself.

‘Dolly: The Ultimate Collection’ features 35 solid hours of her appearances on television. It may come from her own variety shows such as the Porter Wagoner Show which contains all authorized documentaries about her and some of her late-night television appearances. Live concerts are also part of the roster, as well as those unforgettable awards show performances and duets thus making the 19-part DVD set extra special.

Friendship Forged Through Time

As a sneak peek to the compilation and to see how friendship was forged between Dolly and Willie, a teaser trailer was made featuring her present self singing through ’Funny How Time Slips Away’ and then suddenly rewinding to the past in the ’90s with Willie Nelson.

But that’s not all. A single star cannot shine in its brightest without the presence of others so it also includes interviews with icons such as Vince Gill, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Rogers, Carrie Underwood, and Lily Tomlin to really build up the flow of the compilation. The release for this compilation will be announced soon in the producer’s official website, The Time Life.

In the meantime, Dolly Parton’s upcoming Christmas album bound for October is just right around the corner. Let’s settle with that while waiting for her personal treasure trove of moments to be released and be shared with the world.
