Dylan Scott and Wife Blair Robinson, who have been in-love with each other since high school, are now five years strong into their marriage with two lovely kids. The Louisiana-born country singer-songwriter’s love story has been a match made in heaven and something that definitely screamed off the romantic film vibe – and we’re all reeling for it.

So, let’s take a quick rewind from his early life to the start of his career with some iconic Dylan Scott songs to his love story and of course, his life now as a dad.

Who is Dylan Scott?

Dylan Scott Robinson or more popularly known as Dylan Scott, is an American country music artist popular for his chart-topping hit “My Girl.” Scott was born on October 22, 1990 (currently 30 years old) in Bastrop, Morehouse Parish, Louisiana. And you could say that music runs in his blood.

Back in the ’70s and ’80s, his father Scotty played the guitar and sang harmony with country artists like Freddy Fender and Freddy Hart. And his father is not the only one in the family with musical talent. Linda Robinson, his great aunt, taught the now famed pianist and record producer Tony Brown how to play the piano. And another family member on the list is Marie Jarvis, who played piano with the Blackwood Brothers and The Stamps Quartet known for backing Elvis Presley. She was also Dylan’s first ever piano teacher, who taught him the basics of the keyboard when he was two.

Ever since he was young, Dylan had a distinct baritone, and as a young kid, he could already sing on key. And because his dad and a lot of the people who were around him were in the music business, he figured that it was something that he should also do when he’s older.

At 12, he was already a proficient acoustic guitar player, and when he reached high school, he performed with a gospel trio named 11th Hour. They traveled throughout the South and played at churches, fairs, and festivals. But aside from being a really good musician, he also excelled at basketball. And when he had to pick one between hoops and a mic and a guitar, he chose the latter.

Old-school country greats like Merle Haggard and George Strait turned him into country music. But it was Keith Whitley who really inspired him and became his musical role model. That was when he dreamed of moving to Nashville carrying the banner of pure honky-tonk.

And he really had the talent and the stage presence to be a performer proven by two major music competition wins, namely the Colgate Country Music Showdown in Louisiana and the Neal McCoy East Texas Angel Network Talent Contest in 2009.

First Chapter: The Start of His Country Music Career

Straight out of high school, Dylan Scott made the move to start his career in the Music City in Monroe, Louisiana, just thirty minutes away from his hometown. There he started writing songs, broadening his style, leaving performing out of the options for a while. And while he was there, he also worked in construction and as a part-time fitness instructor at gyms.

But just before he turned 19, he scored his very first record deal under Curb Records. There he met his important mentor Jim Ed Norman who was a distinguished producer and an executive at the record label. According to Scott, he learned to both be creative and have some fun while doing his own music, which was why he loved recording with Norman.

Part of Dylan’s music was credited to his so-called unusual ‘band of brothers’ consisting of his brother Logan on lead guitar and another pair of brothers – Garrett and Darrick Cline – who played the bass and drums.

Dylan Scott released his debut single in June 2013 with “Makin’ This Boy Go Crazy” followed by his second in 2014 titled “Mmm, Mmm, Mmm.” In the same year, he released his “Makin This Boy Go Crazy” extended play produced by Jim Ed Norman and peaked at number 50 at the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

But what really launched his career was his self-titled studio album which debuted at number five on the U.S. country album charts in 2016. He also earned his first number one record the same year with “My Girl”, written for his now-wife, Blair Robinson. The song also earned him his first-ever Platinum record.

Other iconic songs in his catalogue were 2014 “Lay It On Me” and 2016 “Hooked,” which was then later certified as Gold and “Crazy Over Me.” Now, Dylan is enjoying new high chart success with 2018 “Nobody,” which was another love song to his wife, Blair.

Second Chapter: The Match Made in Heaven

Dylan Scott and Blair Robinson’s love story was one for the fairy tale books. Both Louisiana natives, the couple first met when they were teens. They first started dating in high school, and it was clear how these two really cherished each other and grew together.

And not even distance became a barrier to their relationship. In one interview with Fox News, Scott expressed how being together for a long time, Blair knew what he wanted to do. And he would be gone for two to four weeks at a time, and they will still be okay. He didn’t know she did it; she just did.

The couple tied the knot in May 2016, shortly after releasing his hit single “My Girl,” which chronicled their love story. According to Scott, the song was inspired by Blair rapping off to Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” in his car.

Needless to say that Blair has been one of his biggest supporters from the start of his career and until now as a successful country music artist. She believed in him, and now they reap the fruits of success.

Third Chapter: Dylan Scott Children

The couple immediately welcomed their first child, Beckett Scott, on December 12, 2017. Before Blair gave birth, the couple had a backyard gathering for a gender reveal where they had pulled poppers that exploded in blue confetti.

And in less than a year, they decided to have another kid so that Beckett would have a sibling close in age so that they could grow up together. So on August 28, 2019, Blair and Scott had their daughter Finley Gray.

Scott definitely enjoys being a dad. His son Beckett definitely recognizes his voice on the radio, and he also added that he is very musically inclined. Although he wouldn’t be surprised if Beckett decided to pursue music, he does not want to push him into anything. He just wants to support them a hundred percent in everything they want to do in life.

In his 2018 music video of his song “Nobody,” which is now reveling another success in the charts, Dylan Scott featured his wife Blair and his two children. And it was a very special video for him as he got to share a glimpse of his everyday life with his family.

As of now, Dylan Scott and wife Blair are enjoying their family together, and we’ll be waiting if there will be baby number three in the future.
