There’s no academy that can teach us to be a great mother or wife. Rather, it’s a deep calling. It’s not just about being a woman, it’s about having compassion, being extraordinarily present and having unconditional love.

When one chooses to be a homemaker, the reward comes from the children and the values one wants to inculcate in them, such as to be wholesome, loving and dependable. It is a choice one has made and what one wishes to achieve. Our mothers never expect to be paid for their work as mothers. A mother’s duty is to raise her children the way she deems right, so that they become as responsible as her, to make sacrifices for those she loves and to give her best.

Songs dedicated to Mothers

Jamie O’Neal – Somebody’s Hero

She’s somebody’s hero
A hero to her baby with a skinned up knee
A little kiss is all she needs
The keeper of the cheerios
The voice that brings snow white to life
Bedtime stories every night
That smile lets her know
She somebody’s hero

“Somebody’s Hero” is perhaps one of country music’s most beautiful odes to moms; it’s a song written and recorded by Jamie O’Neal and it sentimentally looks at the various roles a mother plays. Even if she never walked on the moon, rescued someone from a burning building or hit a game-winning shot, she’s a hero — a hero to her daughter.

Somebody’s Hero” is co-written by O’Neil, Shaye Smith, and Ed Hill. It was released in April 2005 as the second single from Jamie O’Neil’s album Brave.

Martina Mc Bride – In My Daughter’s Eyes

In my daughter’s eyes,
I can see the future,
A reflection of who I am and what will be,
And though she’ll grow and someday leave,
Maybe raise a family,
When I’m gone I hope you’ll see,
How happy she made me,
For I’ll be there,
In my daughter’s eyes

Released in 2003, Martina McBride‘s “In My Daughter’s Eyes” was a hit both on the charts and within the hearts of moms everywhere. A mama herself, McBride sings of the character she hopes to instill in her daughter, as well as of the lessons she learns by looking at life through her little girl’s eyes.

Country Daily extends a sincere greeting to all our mothers out there who selflessly bring light to their family. May God bless you a hundredfold.
