King of Country Music and King of Live Performances, too. Legendary icon George Strait set a new record for the largest ticketed concert in the United States on June 15th. The show took over 110,905 fans at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, beating the band Grateful Dead’s record of 107,019 attendees at Raceway Park, New Jersey, in 1977.
The record-breaking concert also made history for being the most attended single event at Kyle Field, surpassing Aggie’s football team record of 110,663 people. This is another highlight for Strait’s career as he shattered his own record of 104, 793 fans at Arlington’s AT Arlington AT&T Stadium on June 4, 2017.

George Strait fans jammed along to his signature song, “Amarillo By Morning,” and two new singles. Country singers Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman joined the country star’s Saturday concert as evening guests, performing debut singles “MIA in MIA” and “The Little Things.” These tracks are featured on his upcoming 31st studio album, Cowboys And Dreamers, on September 6.
Strait paused midway through the show to honor Sgt. Tiffany Baker via the Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Homes 4 Wounded Heroes Program.
Among the hundred-thousand crowd were new Aggies football coaches Sen. Ted Cruz and Mike Elko. Sen. Cruz shared on X a video clip of the crowd singing along to Strait with the caption “The King at Kyle Field. Amazing night.”
