The band Girl Named Tom previously made history on the ever-known show The Voice. They are revered by millions of listeners and will always be remembered for their unique personalities. Undoubtedly, Girl Named Tom is one of the most well-known groups in country music.

1. Girl Named Tom Consists of Who?

There is one iconic band that was able to join The Voice competition. Girl Named Tom members include Caleb Liechty, 26, Joshua Liechty, 24, and Bekah Liechty, 20. They were initially from Pettisville, Ohio, but now reside in South Bend, Indiana.

2. How Was the Band Formed?

The sibling had initially intended to enroll in medical school but altered their plans after their father was diagnosed with rare cancer in 2017. To take care of their father, they opted to spend more time with the family rather than dividing their time between school and family responsibilities. They decided to start their band in 2019 because of this.

3. Their Great Journey to Music

They have been exposed to music ever since they were kids. The siblings’ first homeschooling made music a significant component of their education. They began their musical training when they participated in piano classes in early childhood. Despite the failure of their desire to become physicians, they were still able to honor their parents and hometown by performing 67 shows in 27 different US cities.

4. The Voice Competition Audition

During season 21 of the ever-known The Voice competition, the three-member group from Pettisville, Ohio, Girl Named Tom, shocked the audience and judges. They performed the Crosby, Stills & Nash song “Helplessly Hoping” for their blind audition. Due to their undeniable great talent, they were able to pass the said blind audition, with four of the coaches turning. In the end, they choose Kelly Clarkson as their coach.

5. Their Historical Win That Will Go Down History 

The siblings competed against Wendy Moten, Paris Winningham, Jershika Maple, and Hailey Mia during the final episode of season 21 of The Voice. Instead of worrying about who would win, they focused on giving the audience and their family one of the most beautiful performances they could provide. Their hard work paid off as they were named the new champions.

6. A Bittersweet Celebration 

During the show, unfortunately, their father’s health worsened. But, there is no doubt that their father was proud of the achievements they were able to obtain during the show. 

7. Their Highly Anticipated 2022 Full-Length Album

The group has plans to release a full-length album in 2022, and they are excited about getting into the studio to start recording. And so they did. They released their Christmas album “One More Christmas” in November 2022. 

8. The Origin of the Group’s Name

Their band’s name has quite an interesting backstory. It turns out that it is based on a childhood nickname. Since Joshua used to call Bekah “Thomas” when she was a baby, they decided to use the name as their band’s name.
