The Voice Season 17 winner and American country music singer Jake Hoot recently tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Brittney Hoyt at the Saddle Wood Farms in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The beautiful vows were exchanged last March 7, with Hoot singing an original song for his bride.
The two first met eight years ago at their best friend’s wedding. They did a duet of “When God Made You” for the newlywed’s first dance. But nothing really happened and they went their own ways. At that time, Brittney Hoyt lived in Arizona while Jake Hoot was out in Tennessee. But fate had plans for them, and they were brought back together during their missions in Nicaragua.
Brittney did not only meet the love of her life in Nicaragua. On that trip, she was also inspired to rebuild devastated communities which led her to start her nonprofit, The Radiant Initiative. Aside from that, she is also the founder and director of international missions for Zeal Global at Zeal Church.
The couple was engaged last year on September 20 in her hometown in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by her family. Brittney was one of seven, and so to surprise her, Jake arranged and coordinated everyone to fly in. Luckily, everything went as planned.
After the majestic outdoor ceremony, everyone gathered for the reception in a gorgeous barn decorated with white ceiling drapery and green and white roses. The place was also adorned with accents of beautiful chandeliers. The newly-married couple sat at the sweethearts’ table filled with gorgeous flower arrangements.
During the reception, Jake sang again another original for his now-wife. On the other hand, Brittney surprised him with a personalized Buckin Buckarette Leather guitar strap. The strap was furnished with a timeline of his life and career from Tennessee to Nicaragua where they first met, his daughter Macy’s birthday, their wedding date to The Voice, his favorite bible verse, and his very first EP, Love Out Of Time, featuring a duet with Kelly Clarkson.
This duet titled ‘I Would’ve Loved You,’ which featured his former The Voice coach, was an emotional, heartbreaking song with a Taylor Ballantyne-directed music video set in an empty theatre. The song was his lead single out of his five-track debut EP, which soared to No. 3 on the iTunes Country Singles Chart. ‘I Would’ve Loved You’ was penned by Jake himself with Dean Sams and Jamie Floyd.
