Kane Brown and his wife, Katelyn, have finally revealed how they came up with the adorable name for their second daughter, Kodi Jane. Audacy’s Katie Neal caught up with the country star on Superstar Power Hour, where he let the cat out of the bag.

Of course, Kane and Katelyn were trying to think of a name that starts with the letter K – the couple also has a daughter, Kingsley Rose. Since they hoped it would be a boy this time, they considered naming their next baby Knight, which was unique and uncommon.

“When we found out it was gonna be a girl, I was like, ‘We could still name her Knight,'” the country singer said.

It wasn’t until they held a gender reveal for Kane Brown’s new baby that they eventually thought about the name Kodi.

The intimate event was held at the couple’s back porch with just about nine other people around when the “One Thing Right” singer came up with the name Kodi. Kane recalled, “And everybody was trying to decide if we were gonna go ‘y’ or, ‘ie.’

Meanwhile, Kodi’s middle name Jane is also the middle name of Katelyn’s grandmother.

Kane Brown And His Wife Surprised Fans When They Announced Kodi’s Arrival

Kane Brown and his wife, Katelyn, kept the entire pregnancy private until Kodi made a dramatic entrance on December 30, 2021, in Nashville – weighing 7 lbs and 9 oz and measuring 20.5 inches long.

The proud parents shared the delightful news by posting a heartwarming family photo with their new family member, and the fans were downright shocked.

The couple never publicly announced Katelyn’s pregnancy and kept everything under wraps to enjoy the miracle on their own terms. They even went the extra mile and were creative enough to hide Katelyn’s growing bump from eagle-eyed fans.

Whenever they run into one, Kane said, “I would, like, stand on that side of her, and I would have her pushing the stroller, just to do whatever I could to block her.”

They also had to be incredibly vigilant about what to post on social media, leaving no clue left in view. Katelyn even skipped the CMA Awards red carpet to avoid any pregnancy speculation.

“Choosing to keep my pregnancy quiet was the best decision I’ve ever made,” Katelyn, 30, wrote on Instagram.

That said, now there are no more secrets. Katelyn Brown, who is a native of Pennsylvania, is constantly giving us a taste of what it’s like to be a mother of two – from her pregnancy journey that showcases her growing belly to adorable photos and videos of Kingsley and Kodi in her Instagram account. Every time she does, the country fanatics can’t help but flood the comment section with how lovely these two little girls are.

Meanwhile, Kane is also loving his role as a girl dad. He also praises Katelyn’s parenting skills, calling her a “superwoman.”

Kane and Katelyn Brown recently released their first-ever duet, “Thank God” – a beautiful love song expressing how blessed they are to have each other. The heartfelt lyrics have absolutely been melting everybody’s hearts.

Well, we hope to get to see more collaborations between these two. Of course, we’d love to see more cute stints by their daughters, Kingsley and Kodi.
