To anyone who said love is dead hasn’t surely met Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. The longtime couple of almost 18 years –with two kids, Sunday and Faith – is still going strong and stronger. On May 6, 2024, they turned heads when they walked down the Met Gala red carpet – their first since 2016. The singer wore a classic black tux, while the actress recreated the striking black-and-white 1950s couture silk ball gown with a ruffle skirt by Cristóbal Balenciaga.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, he said that it always fires him up a bit more whenever Kidman is in attendance at any of his performances. Yes, you heard that right. The man is still trying to impress his wife years after they said their “I dos.”

Aside from Kidman’s, he hoped to continuously make the people closest to him proud. One of those was his late father, Bob Urban, who passed away in December 2015. He felt he was still trying to make him proud and thought his dad was proud years ago. “My dad’s not even alive anymore, and I still feel like I’m trying to get his approval. So certain things just stay part of my fire,” he shared.

The four-time Grammy winner’s tour schedule is packed, as he joins several country music fest line-ups from June to August: Barefoot Country Music Fest, Country Fest, Summerfest, Sunfest Country Music Festival, Voices of America Country Music Fest.

Then, from October until February of next year, he’s slated to perform ten shows at Fontainebleau Las Vegas for his HIGH Vegas residency. The concerts will feature new music from his upcoming album, including “Messed Up as Me” and his new collaboration track with Lainey Wilson, “Go Home W U.” And, of course, he will also be performing his timeless hits like “Blue Ain’t Your Color” and “Somebody Like You.”

In 2022, when Keith Urban concluded his residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Nicole Kidman made a surprise onstage appearance. Urban welcomed her onstage, and they had a cute banter, with Kidman introducing herself as “Nicole Urban.” So, if you’re attending any of the singer’s 10 shows, you just might spot the actress in the crowd. And you’d most likely get a way more impressive performance!
