Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock’s ongoing divorce recently made headlines after sources revealed that Clarkson had been ordered to temporarily pay her estranged husband nearly $200,000 monthly in support – down from the reported $436,000 that Blackstock initially requested – starting last April. That is on top of a one-time payment of $1.25 million to cover all of Blackstock’s legal expenses.

The former couple has yet to reach a formal settlement, but according to a source, the divorce will be finalized soon, with the judge expected to declare both Clarkson and Blackstock legally single.
Earlier this month, Clarkson and her lawyer Laura Wasser filed a motion for a separate trial to be legally signed off as single, claiming that ‘she has made good faith efforts to settle.’ On the other hand, Brandon Blackstock and his legal team allegedly had no intentions of reaching a settlement anytime soon. Nevertheless, the two are not contesting anything in their prenup despite conflicting reports that recently made rounds.
Clarkson filed for divorce last June 2020, citing irreconcilable differences between them. She also added that there is no counseling or reconciliation effort that would be of value at the time and that there will be no prejudice towards Brandon if the marriage would be immediately dissolved. The pair had been married for nearly seven years and have two kids together, daughter River, 7, and son Remington, 5.
Revealed: Kelly Clarkson’s Net Worth and Current Salary
Although $200,000 is a lot, the cost wouldn’t probably make a big dent on the singer’s hefty bank. Kelly Clarkson’s net worth is estimated at $50 million, according to The Sun.
Not to mention that Clarkson continuously enjoys a big monthly paycheck. An exclusive source tells Us that the 39-year-old singer earns $1.9 million from her daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, which took over Ellen Degeneres’ previous time slot, and her stint in NBC’s The Voice. According to court documents, the salary was packaged together when the forensic accountant testified during the trial to determine temporary spousal and child support.
In line with that, Clarkson has also been reportedly renegotiating her talk show contract requesting for a substantial increase as she continues to film season 2.
As of now, the couple is tight-lipped about the details of their divorce proceedings, especially Clarkson, who is working to make sure that their children are protected. Also, aside from her busy schedule with her talk show and The Voice, Kelly Clarkson is also busy writing songs. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the singer said how it was a blessing in itself to have music as an outlet, regardless of whether people would hear it or not.
