Most of the time, fathers are supposed to be the head of the family. Also, they’re responsible for keeping the family together. But sometimes, fathers are the ones who are destroying the family. Further, even if you try to repair the relationship with them, it would be worthless. In most cases, it’s easy to be a man but takes a lot of guts and responsibility to be a father. Most of the time, these ‘responsible’ fathers will walk away from their duties. It’s a sad truth that most people have this attitude. Anyway, the singer Kelly Clarkson experienced this because she did not have a healthy relationship with her dad. She never missed him because he was not there whenever Clarkson needed a father. In spite of this, she was able to get up and overcome all her struggles in life. Further, she is one of America’s great singers.

Kelly Clarkson Said She Never Misses Him

Whenever she has an interview, Clarkson will not talk about her dad. It seems that there’s not much to talk about him. Moreover, the singer-songwriter kept the secret of her dad’s passing but she finally opened it up during an interview with Forbes. Kelly Clarkson said that her dad died months ago but she never missed him. Plus, she had a complicated relationship with him. Both sides tried to work it out but it seems that their father-daughter relationship is somewhat cancerous.

Relationship with Her Estranged Father

In an interview with Skavlan, Kelly Clarkson said that they did not have any communication with him for years due to the unhealthy relationship. In line with this, Clarkson’s song “Piece by Piece” reminded her of everything when they tried to patch things up. She said:

“From the moment I wrote it, just being pregnant with my little girl and then you know all the moments that I really did try and make it work with my father and life and just get completely let down to where… You know he passed away months ago. So that’s that’s why.”

Regardless of her unhealthy relationship with her dad, Clarkson is so successful in terms of her carrier and married life.
