Country music superstars Luke Combs and Eric Church united for a powerful cause, headlining the “Concert for Carolina” to benefit victims of Hurricane Helene. The star-studded event, held at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, raised an astounding $24.5 million.
The concert featured a lineup of A-list performers, including James Taylor, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Billy Strings, Bailey Zimmerman, Scotty McCreery, Chase Rice, The Avett Brothers, and Parmalee. Special appearances were made by Nicole Kidman and Randy Travis, while Dolly Parton sent a heartfelt written message and previously pledged a $1 million donation.
All proceeds from the concert will be directed towards relief efforts in the Carolina region, devastated by Hurricane Helene.
“What a night,” Luke Combs shared on social media. “This will undoubtedly go down as the night I am most proud of in my career.” He expressed gratitude to the countless individuals and organizations who contributed to the event’s success, including the Panthers front office team, The Tepper family, AEG, SES, LiveNation, the dedicated staff, and all the sponsors.
Eric Church, a native of North Carolina, was also deeply moved by the night’s events and demonstrated his unwavering commitment to his hometown by announcing plans through his The Chief Cares Fund. The foundation plans to rebuild 100 homes for families who lost their residences in Avery County and surrounding areas, one of the hardest-hit regions. “We’re going to go and keep those people in their community, put a roof over their heads, let them interact with their community, let them be a part of their community, and let them help rebuild the community,” Church declared.
While the initial goal is to rebuild 100 homes, Church emphasized his desire to expand the initiative and help even more families in need.
As the Carolina region continues its recovery, the funds raised from the “Concert for Carolina” will provide vital support and hope to those affected by the devastating hurricane – a testament to the power of music and the unwavering support of the country music community.
