Music chart-topper Maren Morris went viral on Tiktok during Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey, on July 12. The 34-year-old singer-songwriter wore a black plunge halter top atop a denim high slit maxi skirt. She paired the outfit with black knee-high boots and a horseshoe buckle belt. While Morris was singing her 2018 hit “The Middle” across the stage, her skirt flowed open to expose her anatomy.

The video clip circulated on social media, and some fans debated whether she was wearing skin-tone underwear or if it was intentional rather than a wardrobe malfunction.

“I feel like she just really didn’t care if you ended up seeing her underwear or not,” one Reddit user said. “I mean there is no way she thought with the cutout like that and moving around that it wouldn’t move around.”

Another Redditor commented and defended her, “It’s most definitely nude-colored underwear. It’s not that deep or wild, lol.”

Meanwhile, on Tiktok, some reactors made their reaction pieces. One user shared her second hand embarrassment for the singer with the caption: “I wonder if she felt the breeze?”

“Someone on her team is getting fired or getting a raise, not sure yet. Poor Maren Morris. She is either very calculated or completely humiliated,” another TikToker posted

Morris has not released any public statement on the incident but she has clapped back gracefully at critics in the past who find her revealing outfits rather distasteful.

This is not the first time Morris has had a wardrobe slip-up. In 2017, she expressed her concern about tripping over her dress while performing with Alicia Keys at the Grammy Awards. In July 2023, the singer flaunted her daring outfit during a show in Birmingham, England. “When you accidentally didn’t flash check your top pre-show,” she wrote on Instagram post. In 2020, Morris left a witty remark to a commenter who criticized her post on Instagram for wearing a deep plunge dress. “Girl, BYE. Don’t let my boobs knock you on the way out,” she responded.

Such incidents are common to performers, but Maren Morris has maintained a positive outlook on her skin over the years whenever she wears bold or intricate costumes.
