Getting married or tying the knot is one of the most important milestones in our life. It is exciting and scary – just like a roller coaster ride. A successful one is being able to fall in love with each other all over again.

My take on this would be these songs. I hope these heart-warming tracks would make you remember why you married the love of your life.

Here is a playlist of love songs you can choose from on your wedding day.

Deeper than the Holler

Covered by Randy Travis, “Deeper Than the Holler” is a mid-tempo ballad. The narrator illustrates his love for his woman by saying that he has heard many people sing about how they love their loved ones. They use different metaphors to describe it. The man then decides to sing his song about how he feels about his lover.

In the second verse, the narrator sings on how there are “at least a million love songs that people love to sing” about their true love.

I Cross My Heart

What a beautiful way of expressing one’s love by George Strait! With the lines that go:

I cross my heart
And promise to
Give all I’ve got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world
You’ll never find
A love as true as mine

Forever and Ever, Amen

The inspiration to the song “Forever and Ever, Amen” came from a combination of a prayer and an exclamation of love. As Don’s wife would tuck their young son into bed at night, the boy would say his prayers. The little one finishes it up by saying, “Mommy, I love you forever and ever, amen”.

You’re Still the One

Sometime in the mid-1990s, Twain had become romantically involved with Lange. There was a criticism of their relationship and people claimed that the age difference was extreme. Rumors had it that Twain was only using him to advance in her career. In essence, the detractors did not expect their relationship to last. Twain disagreed with these disapprovals. To address the public of what they are and have, it led her to compose “You’re Still the One”.

God Gave Me You

Country musician Blake Shelton made a cover of the song for his 2011 album Red River Blue. Released in July 2011, it was the second single from the said album. While tuned to a contemporary Christian station, Shelton heard Barnes’ version. In an instant, that inspired him to propose to then-girlfriend Miranda Lambert who is now his ex-wife. In the music video, we can watch footages from Lambert the night before their wedding.

It’s Your Love

This is a love song by Tim McGraw, featuring wife Faith Hill. It reached the top on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in its fifth week. The single was on the chart for six weeks and became McGraw and Hill’s first top-ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The accompanying music video, directed and produced by Sherman Halsey is a great work of art. In that, it showcases Hill, who was very noticeably pregnant with the couple’s first daughter, Gracie.

Like Jesus Does

Eric Church’s track is a mid-tempo ballad. This tells about the acceptance of his lover’s personality and that his lover loves him “like Jesus does”.

Whisper My Name

“Whisper My Name” is a Randy Travis hit that is of mid-tempo. When you listen to the lyrics, you will hear the narrator using metaphors to explain how he feels when someone whispers his name.

These are some of the very special ones:

  1. Feels so Right by Alabama
  2. You’re My Angel by Brooks & Dunn
  3. Remember When by Alan Jackson
  4. The Dance by Garth Brooks
  5. I Love the Way You Love Me by Calvin Charles

There goes my list.

Feel free to comment or add the songs that you want to as I cannot put them all.
