Country superstar Kane Brown added another No. 1 single to his repertoire with “Like I Love Country Music.” The song catapulted atop both Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and Canada Country chart. It also peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart while reaching No. 26 on Billboard Hot 100.

Brown released “Like I Love Country Music” in 2022 as the second single off his third studio album, Different Man.

Meaning Behind The Song

Kane Brown wrote “Like I Love Country Music” together with Jordan Schmidt, Matt McGinn, and Taylor Phillips on his tour bus during a writer’s retreat in 2019. While he intended to include the song on his 2020 seven-track EP Mixtape Vol. 1, Brown fell out of love with it, and eventually “kind of got lost in the shuffle,” the singer said.

Fast forward three years later, Brown reconfigured the romantic track as the throwback anthem fans know and love today.

“Like I Love Country Music” is a cheery and absolute country jam that finds the singer comparing his love for his woman to his love for classic country music.

In the track, Brown name-checked country hits by legends such as Willie Nelson, George Jones, Johnny Cash, and June Carter Cash, as well as Alan Jackson’s “Chattahoochee” and Brooks & Dunn’s hit “Brand New Man.”

The country classics make his heart race the same way his girl does.

What’s even great is that the ’90s-inspired ode to romance and country music came to life with the same ’90s-inspired music video. It features Brown performing the song at The Nashville Palace in front of honky-tonk patrons while donning black leather pants and a cowboy hat.

Indeed, “Like I Love Country Music” swiftly resonated with fans, just like most songs by Kane Brown – so it was no surprise that it was only a matter of time before it went No. 1. Anyway, tune in and play the video below to listen to this upbeat country jam.
