Netflix continues to prove that they are the number 1 streaming site in the world. With the release of Netflix’s first-ever documentary of a country artist, they’ll get more viewers from country fans all around the world.
The title for the Netflix original documentary is Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story. It will be available for streaming on June 12, and it will also be accompanied by the massive release of Bob Dylan‘s 1975 Live Recordings.
Bob Dylan on Netflix
The documentary series is directed by the amazing Martin Scorsese. It is not the first time that Martin did a Bob Dylan documentary. In 2005, he directed a documentary film called No Direction Home. It followed the life of Bob Dylan and his influence on American Music. The film received positive reviews from critiques, so it is safe to say that he would do justice to another Bob Dylan documentary.
The focus, this time, would be on the infamous 1975 tour of Bob. The trailer consists of behind the scenes from Bob’s 1975 tour, which was surrounded by questions from fans at that time.
Netflix said this about the film:
“Setting out across a 1975 America exhausted politically, economically and socially, a busload of musicians—assembled by Bob Dylan—hits the road in search of new creative horizons. The resulting tour, the Rolling Thunder Revue, would reveal a Dylan rarely seen: playful, mask-wearing, intense, expansive, rejuvenated,”
About the Trailer
Watching the first trailer already gave the audience what they wanted. There were some behind the scenes of the tours. The people who worked closely with Bob Dylan shared their thoughts as to why the tour failed, but the intention of the documentary is to show what happened after the tour.
It showcases the reinvention of the artistry of the one and only, Bob Dylan. You can already tell on the trailer alone that people are going to love it because of its authenticity. The documentary not only shows the impact of Bob Dylan in the music industry but also his struggles and how it helped him rediscover what it feels like to be a true artist.
