Thompson made it perfectly clear that he’s a champion during his sultry rendition of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire” – to which judge Katy Perry thought the young singer “just swooped in and grabbed every heart in America.”

Things Are Moving Too Fast For Noah Thompson

Noah Thompson didn’t have much time to process the life-changing moment. Right after stepping off the stage, he was immediately whisked into a car and headed to the airport to catch his flight to New York. The new champion then appeared on different talk shows, including Good Morning America.

While things are moving quite fast for Thompson, a small-town guy who had never been on a plane until his audition for American Idol, he finally had the chance to express his gratitude to his fans.

Thompson took to social media to thank everyone who voted for him throughout the competition. He received 16 million votes during the show’s season finale – beating Huntergirl and Leah Marlene.

“Had a hard time making this post because I truly couldn’t find the words to say,” Thompson wrote along with a photo and a short clip from the finale. “I was in complete shock at this moment, and I still am, and I probably always will be!”

The aspiring artist ended his post by expressing his excitement to continue this journey and see “where this thing goes.”

Congratulations, Noah Thompson. Pretty sure great things are in store for you! Make sure to check out below and enjoy his riveting performance during the American Idol finale.
