“Rainbow Connection” Performed by 9-year-old Kacey Musgraves

“Rainbow Connection” is a classic hit known since Kermit the Frog sang the song whilst playing the banjo. It was seen in the 1979 movie The Muppet Movie, and ever since everyone knew about it, and every artist tried to make a version of the song.

Recently country award-winning artist Kacey Musgraves performed this song live with the legendary Willie Nelson during the 53rd CMA Awards show. It was an outstanding performance, and you’ll surely enjoy it.

But before their great performance, Musgraves released a footage of her singing this song when she was 9 years old. You can hear her innocent sweet voice in the video.

The song has been covered a lot of times, since the time it came out on the movie up until today. Some notable versions of this were sung by Nelson, Dixie Chicks, The Carpenters, Jason Mraz, and more.

Nelson’s cover of the song was part of his 2001 album with the same title. His album was even nominated for the Grammy’s Country Album of the Year.

A Night to Remember

On the 13th of November, Musgraves did not only had a blast performing with Nelson during the CMA awards, but it was a great night for her. She brought home the award for Female Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year for her song “Rainbow.” Her song “Rainbow” was also nominated for Song of the Year, but it was taken home by Luke Combs for his song “Beautiful Crazy.
