Walker Hayes’ “Fancy Like” is arguably one of the biggest tunes of 2021. Not only did it become the No. 1 song on country radio, but it scored Hayes his first Grammy nomination.

And most of all, it has taken the world by storm on a viral level. Thanks to TikTok, its stardom shined even brighter with its own dance routine. It’s amazing how thousands of people turned to social media to recreate the simple jig, including actress Amy Adams.

Are You Ready For A Festive Spin?

Now, American a cappella group, Straight No Chaser, just gave Walker Hayes’ “Fancy Like” a cheerful spin on the song called “Christmas Like,” and it’s filled with holiday-themed lyrics that we can all relate to.

The all-male a cappella group detailed in the festive parody song all that is to enjoy during the holiday season that are pretty sure you’re familiar with. This includes a slice of fruitcake, boujee like egg nog in the styrofoam, Chris Kringle, matching holiday pajamas, and so much more.

The festive “Fancy Like” parody came when band member Walter Chase decided to arrange the viral hit when the group was in the middle of their summer tour. According to Chase, he first came across Hayes’ song while listening to a Spotify playlist during a workout, running around Cape Cod. Amazingly, he ended up playing the song repeatedly for the rest of his run. That’s when he knew he needed to arrange it for one of the band’s live performances.

However, his bandmate Seggie Isho had a different thing in mind, suggesting that they transform “Fancy Like” into a holiday parody.

After all, “we are known as a holiday group to many,” Chase realized.

So, Chase and Isho teamed up to write the parody’s lyrics, making sure to keep the purpose of the original theme of how to make the holidays fun without going to extremes.

You can tune in below and enjoy Straight No Chaser’s parody of “Fancy Like.”
