Dan + Shay has come a long way since they made their debut. With recognitions from all across the music industry, Dan + Shay has arguably become the best contemporary duo of the decade. However, fans and lovers of country music have been held back from hearing a holiday original from one of country music’s favorites. Well, no better time than this year, Dan + Shay are set to release “Take Me Home for Christmas.”

“Take Me Home for Christmas”

Considerably one of the best country duos of our time, Dan + Shay is set to release their first original holiday song. Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney reminded us that our families are one of the best gifts we could ever have for the holidays.

“Take Me Home For Christmas” was penned by Dan +Shay’s very own Dan Smyers joined by Andy Albert, Jordan Reynolds, Jordan Schmidt, and Mitchell Tenpenny.

The creation of the new tune was a blast according to Smyers. Having an early feel of the holiday season was just the right timing. Besides, who would regret an extra positive vibe for such a time like this? It is also a request granted for the fans of Dan + Shay who, every single year, have been relentless in asking for some Christmas music from their idols.

The Music Video

Dan + Shay’s family-friendly video featured their real-life wives, Abby and Hannah. Wearing their own Christmas sweaters, the duo starts the lively tune. Also, a cut scene of them donning Santa costumes will make everyone feel that the holidays are just around the corner. But one of the best highlights in “Take Me Home For Christmas” was how it ended. It’s about having every family member present that truly gives the festive mood.

2020 has not been an easy year for all of us. But for Dan + Shay, this year has proven to be a great run. Bagging recognitions from left to right, Dan + Shay has ultimately proven that they are one of the best in the business.

Dan + Shay also took an emotional turn with the heartbreaking single, “I Should Probably Go to Bed.” The greatest country duo, at least for the past year, has a lot left in their tank. Stay tuned for more from Dan + Shay.
