Country music legend and actress Reba McEntire recently shared with fans a sneak peek of her much-anticipated new Lifetime project, The Hammer. The action-packed trailer made its debut on Thursday (August 12), making fans even more excited for the film’s release that’s scheduled in 2023.

In the less than two-minute short clip, you will see a badass McEntire portraying the role of traveling Judge Kim Wheeler, where she gave a police officer an earful and knocked up someone with a hammer.

More interestingly, not only does Reba star in the movie, but she’s also among the executive producers together with The Cartel and Pahrump Pictures.

Reba McEntire Assembled a Dream Team for the Movie

The movie follows Reba McEntire‘s character, Kim Wheeler – the fierce, seemingly “loose cannon” lawyer designated as the judge of the 5th District of Nevada.

During the saga, McEntire will try to solve the mystery of the reigning judge’s death under questionable circumstances, seeing that she could be next. She will be joined by Melissa Peterman, her former co-star in the television comedy series Reba. Peterman will serve as McEntire’s on-screen sister, who will suddenly become the main suspect. Kim Wheeler must then work even harder to make sure the proper justice is served.

There’s also McEntire’s real-life boyfriend, Rex Lin, who joined the cast as a “mysterious cowboy with unknown motives.” Pretty sure fans are excited to see them both on one screen.

In case you don’t know, this film is inspired by the true story of Kimberly Wanker, one of the few remaining traveling judges in America who has been known for her “no-nonsense brand of justice” – that made her gain the nickname “The Hammer.”

Make sure to watch the trailer of The Hammer in the video below.
