What do you think will happen when you accept Christ? Do you think something good will come out of it or do you think that life will be boring? The answer to this question can be seen in two ways. Some may agree that something good will happen to you when you accept Christ into your life. Meanwhile, others will disagree with the claims of Christians. They will say that it doesn’t matter if you accept Christ or not because life will always be the same, but what really happens when we accept Jesus?

What Happens When We Accept Christ?

1. We are Forgiven

Letting Jesus into our life doesn’t simply mean nothing at all. Since we are sinful creatures, it is difficult to remove this part of us. However, letting Christ into our lives will wash away all of our sins. It doesn’t mean that when we accept Christ, we are 100% clean; it means that we know what is right from wrong. Therefore, we can make a conscious decision to do what is right. Yes, we may have some minor wrongdoings but we learn from it as Christ will help us. In addition, our previous sins are forgiven too.

2. We See the World in a Different Way

As sinners, we see the world as a chaotic, tragic, evil place, and we fill our hearts with hatred. But when Jesus comes into our life, we see the world in a whole different way. We learn to become more understanding. We love, forgive, care, and want people to be saved like us. A true believer in Christ never judges a person just because they are not believers. Instead, they ask God to use them as an instrument to drive non-believers to believers of Christ.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”

-Colossians 3:12

3. We Worry Less

When we let Christ into our lives, it doesn’t mean that we will not be facing daily trials and hardships. We are not susceptible to such, it’s actually the opposite. Evil forces will actually throw more trials to believers. They want to make us feel that God doesn’t care. However, if we get to know the Savior, we know that all these trails are nothing compared to His power and grace. The moment we accept Christ, we know that nothing can shake your faith. Instead, it grows stronger every day. Our problems will shrink as we don’t have to worry anymore despite how difficult life is.

With Jesus, we learn to lean on Him in times of hardship.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”- Matthew 11:28-30

Therefore, let’s not hesitate to let Jesus into our heart today. Get ready to be saved!
