During his 29th birthday, Morgan Wallen finally released the highly anticipated studio version of “You Proof.”

“No other way I’d want to celebrate turning 29 than dropping new music,” Wallen said.

The East Tennessee native first shared the brand-new track in the summer of 2021 through a demo recording snippet he uploaded on his social media – and to no surprise, it earned an overwhelming response, with fans begging the country superstar for the full release.

And Wallen happily obliged! The song then debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, making it Wallen’s fifth single to debut at the top of that chart.

It Looks Like This Heartbreak Anthem Is Going To Be The Song of Summer

Written by Morgan Wallen, Charlie Handsome, Ashley Gorley, and Ernest K. Smith, “You Proof” is an ode about a man who drinks his heartbreak away, doing his very best to erase the memory of his previous lover. However, it seems like no matter how much whiskey he drinks, it’s just not strong enough to heal the pain.

The heartbreak anthem comes as one of Wallen’s string of new releases within the month. The country superstar also released the recording-breaking “Don’t Think Jesus” and the heartfelt tribute to his mother, “Thought You Should Know.”

Currently, Wallen is on the road, in the midst of his massive The Dangerous Tour, in support of his record-breaking double album. The tour that runs through October is so far the biggest country tour of 2022. And it has seen great success, recently selling out several dates or more than 800,000 tickets sold. Moreover, it will feature several special guests, which include Lainey Wilson, HARDY, ERNEST, and Larry Fleet.

Anyway, you can listen to “You Proof” by playing the video below. It’s also now available on all streaming platforms.
